Editorial standards and corrections
How we decide what goes on this site, how we check it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
From our sister shop, My Mushroom Dispensary. Adults 21+ only.
Sources come first
Every factual claim on this site links to where it came from. We prefer the primary record: the Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code, the Legislature's bill histories and roll calls, the Federal Register, state agency data from Oregon, Colorado and New Mexico, ClinicalTrials.gov registrations, FDA and CDC pages, and studies indexed in PubMed. When a news report is the only source, we say who reported it. When something can't be confirmed in a primary source, we leave it out or say plainly that it's unconfirmed.
We give exact figures with their denominators and dates, and we avoid words like "first", "most" or "always" unless a source says exactly that.
How pages are checked
Each page is fact-checked before publication in a separate pass, not by whoever drafted it. The check compares every number, date, name, statute and quotation with its cited source, opens every source link, and looks for contradictions between pages. Pages about the law, safety and medicines get checked first and most closely.
Law and program pages show a "Checked" date. We re-check Nevada's statutes, the bill history and the list of licensed psilocybin centers at least once a month and update the date when we do.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and note what changed and when at the end of that page, unless the change is a typo that doesn't affect meaning. We don't quietly rewrite facts. To report an error, email the address on our contact page with the page and the source that shows the problem.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help gather sources, draft text, check facts against sources and generate illustrations. People choose the topics, review every page and decide what's published. All illustrations are AI-generated and captioned as AI illustrations; we don't use them to depict real people, or as evidence of what a real place or product looks like.
Ownership and money
This site is published by the team that runs an online shop, My Mushroom Dispensary. The about page explains exactly where the shop appears on this site. We sell no advertising and accept no payment for coverage or links. Apart from the Products button near the top of each page, pages about law, safety, therapy, research and news carry no links to the shop.
What we won't publish
No dosing amounts, schedules or preparation methods; no growing or foraging guidance; no advice on avoiding police, drug tests or security screening; no reviews, ratings or testimonials; no names of private people involved in arrests or deaths. Harm-reduction information, such as warning signs and when to call 911, is always in scope.
